Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism

Meaning

Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism is a condition where gonads produce insufficient sex hormones due to inadequate pituitary stimulation. This deficiency originates centrally, from the hypothalamus’s impaired GnRH release or the pituitary’s diminished LH and FSH secretion. This leads to low circulating sex steroid levels, indicating a central defect in the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.
