Hypogonadal States

Meaning

Hypogonadal states refer to a clinical condition characterized by insufficient production of sex hormones, such as testosterone in males or estrogen in females, by the gonads. This deficiency can also involve impaired gamete production, impacting reproductive capacity. The underlying cause may originate directly from gonadal dysfunction or indirectly from pituitary or hypothalamic disorders affecting gonadal stimulation.
