Hypoestrogenic State

Meaning

A Hypoestrogenic State is a physiological condition defined by abnormally low circulating levels of estrogen hormones, primarily estradiol, resulting in a distinct set of systemic clinical manifestations. This hormonal deficit is a natural occurrence during the menopausal transition but can also be induced by certain medical therapies or pathological conditions affecting the ovaries or the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. The long-term consequences of this state include accelerated bone loss, urogenital atrophy, and increased cardiovascular risk.
