Hyperinsulinemia Effects

Meaning

The diverse and often detrimental systemic consequences resulting from chronically elevated levels of circulating insulin, a state known as hyperinsulinemia. While initially a compensatory response to cellular insulin resistance, these high levels independently contribute to a cascade of pathologies. Key effects include increased visceral adiposity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and the potentiation of chronic inflammatory states. This hormonal imbalance is a central driver of metabolic syndrome and its associated risks.
