HPG Axis Support Structure

Meaning

A clinical strategy involving the co-administration of specific pharmaceutical agents, nutritional cofactors, or peptides alongside primary hormonal therapy to maintain or stimulate the endogenous function and structural integrity of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) axis. This support is designed to mitigate the negative feedback suppression caused by exogenous hormone administration, preserving fertility, testicular or ovarian function, and the natural pulsatile release of gonadotropins. The structure encompasses both preventative and restorative interventions.
