HPG Axis Recalibration

Meaning

HPG Axis Recalibration refers to a targeted therapeutic strategy designed to restore the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) axis to its natural, optimal function following a period of iatrogenic or pathological suppression. This clinical process is frequently necessary after the cessation of exogenous sex steroid administration, which inhibits the body’s natural endogenous hormone production. The ultimate goal is to re-establish the appropriate feedback loops and the body’s capacity for self-regulation.
