HPG Axis Modulators

Meaning

HPG Axis Modulators are agents or interventions designed to influence the activity of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) axis, a central neuroendocrine pathway regulating reproductive and hormonal functions. These modulators can either stimulate or suppress the axis, affecting the production and release of key hormones such as Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), Luteinizing Hormone (LH), Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH), and the gonadal steroids like testosterone and estradiol.
