HPG Axis Modulation

Meaning

HPG Axis Modulation describes the therapeutic or physiological adjustment of the activity within the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal axis, the master regulator of the reproductive and sexual endocrine system. This process involves influencing the secretion of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), Luteinizing Hormone (LH), and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) to control the production of sex steroids like testosterone and estrogen from the gonads. Clinical modulation is often employed to address fertility issues, manage symptoms of hormone deficiency, or restore endocrine balance, ensuring optimal reproductive health.
