Hormone Therapy Timing Hypothesis

Meaning

The Hormone Therapy Timing Hypothesis proposes that the benefits and risks of menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) are significantly influenced by the chronological age of a woman and the time elapsed since her last menstrual period. It suggests that initiating MHT closer to the onset of menopause, often referred to as the “window of opportunity,” may yield more favorable outcomes, particularly regarding cardiovascular health, compared to commencing therapy many years after menopause has begun.
