Hormone Pulse Amplitude

Meaning

The measure of the maximum concentration attained during a single, episodic burst of hormone secretion, quantified as the peak level relative to the baseline concentration. Many key regulatory hormones, such as Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) and Growth Hormone (GH), are released in a pulsatile manner rather than continuously. The amplitude of these pulses is a crucial determinant of the downstream biological signal strength and target tissue response.
