Hormonal Instability

Meaning

Hormonal Instability is a clinical state defined by significant, often erratic, and sometimes rapid fluctuations in the concentration or biological activity of circulating hormones, deviating substantially from the body’s normal, tightly controlled physiological range. This condition profoundly disrupts the homeostatic balance of the entire endocrine system, manifesting in a diverse constellation of systemic symptoms that can affect mood regulation, metabolic rate, sleep architecture, and reproductive function. It is a common presentation during major transitional life phases, such as perimenopause, or in response to chronic, unmanaged psychological or physical stress.
