Hormonal Imbalance

Meaning

A hormonal imbalance is a physiological state characterized by deviations in the concentration or activity of one or more hormones from their optimal homeostatic ranges, leading to systemic functional disruption. This disruption can manifest as either an excess, known as hypersecretion, or a deficiency, termed hyposecretion, of specific endocrine signaling molecules. Such deviations impair the body’s capacity to maintain normal biological processes, affecting various organ systems and metabolic pathways.
