Hormonal Desynchronization

Meaning

Hormonal Desynchronization describes a state where the rhythmic, time-dependent release patterns of key endocrine hormones become misaligned with the body’s intrinsic circadian clock or external environmental cues. This disruption means that hormones are secreted at inappropriate times of the 24-hour cycle, such as elevated cortisol at night or suppressed melatonin during the dark phase. This misalignment severely compromises metabolic health, immune function, and the restorative processes of sleep. It is a critical form of biological stress.
