Hormonal Axis Reset

Meaning

A therapeutic intervention designed to restore the normal, pulsatile, and feedback-regulated function of a dysregulated endocrine axis, such as the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) or Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Thyroid (HPT) axis. The reset aims to re-establish the central regulatory rhythm and sensitivity of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, allowing the downstream glands to resume autonomous, healthy hormone production. This is often used to recover endogenous function after suppression.
