Hormonal Axis Recalibration

Meaning

Hormonal axis recalibration refers to a therapeutic or physiological process aimed at restoring optimal communication and balance within one of the body’s major neuroendocrine feedback loops, such as the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) or Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) axis. This clinical strategy seeks to move the set-point of hormonal secretion and feedback closer to a healthy, homeostatic range, rather than simply supplementing downstream hormones. The goal is to encourage the body’s endogenous regulatory capacity.
