HOPE Study

Meaning

The Heart Outcomes Prevention Evaluation, commonly known as the HOPE Study, was a pivotal international clinical trial designed to assess the cardiovascular protective effects of ramipril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, and vitamin E in a broad population of high-risk individuals. This study aimed to determine if these interventions could reduce the incidence of myocardial infarction, stroke, or cardiovascular death.
