hiPSC-Cardiomyocytes

Meaning

Human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes are specialized heart muscle cells generated in vitro from reprogrammed somatic cells. These cells, reverted to an embryonic-like pluripotent state, are guided to differentiate into functional cardiac cells. They exhibit key native cardiomyocyte characteristics, including spontaneous contractility, ion channel expression, and responsiveness to pharmacological stimuli.
