High-Fidelity Signal Transmission

Meaning

Describes the clear, accurate, and unimpaired communication of biochemical and electrical signals between cells, tissues, and organ systems. In endocrinology, this specifically refers to the pristine transmission of hormonal messages from the endocrine gland, through the bloodstream, to the target cell receptor. Loss of fidelity, often due to receptor downregulation or chronic inflammation, results in impaired biological response and functional decline.
