HFEA

Meaning

HFEA is the acronym for the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, which is the United Kingdom’s independent statutory body responsible for regulating and inspecting all clinics undertaking in vitro fertilization (IVF), artificial insemination, and the storage of eggs, sperm, and embryos. This regulatory authority is fundamentally important in the domain of reproductive and hormonal health, ensuring that all fertility treatments are delivered safely, ethically, and within the bounds of the law. The HFEA also maintains the UK’s register of fertility treatments and donor information.
