Healthcare Discrimination

Meaning

Healthcare Discrimination is the unequal or prejudicial treatment of an individual by a healthcare provider, institution, or insurance system based on factors unrelated to clinical need, such as their perceived health status, genetic profile, or lifestyle choices inferred from biological data. This unacceptable practice can manifest as denial of services, inflated premiums, or differential quality of care based on biomarkers indicative of hormonal or metabolic risk. It fundamentally violates the principle of equitable care.
