Health Resilience

Meaning

Health Resilience is the physiological capacity of a biological system, including the neuroendocrine and immune axes, to resist disruption, rapidly recover from acute stressors, and adapt to chronic challenges without incurring lasting functional deficits. It is a measure of the body’s homeostatic robustness and its ability to maintain stability in the face of perturbations. High resilience is a clinical marker of a well-regulated and youthful physiological state.
