Health Equity through Environment

Meaning

Health Equity through Environment is the principle that every individual should have a fair and just opportunity to attain their highest level of health, achieved in part by eliminating the environmental and systemic barriers that disproportionately expose vulnerable populations to health-damaging pollutants. This concept recognizes that environmental quality, including exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and poor air quality, is a social determinant of hormonal and overall health. It advocates for targeted interventions to rectify these disparities.
