Health Equity in Incentives

Meaning

The principle that health and wellness incentive programs must be designed and implemented in a manner that ensures fair access and equal opportunity for all population segments, explicitly addressing and mitigating existing socioeconomic or cultural barriers. This concept goes beyond mere equality of offering to ensure that the structure of rewards and the requirements for participation do not disproportionately benefit already privileged groups. It aims to reduce health disparities by making positive behavioral change attainable for everyone.
