HCG Treatment

Meaning

HCG Treatment refers to the therapeutic administration of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) to stimulate gonadal function in both male and female patients within clinical endocrinology. In men, it is primarily used to stimulate the testes to produce testosterone and maintain testicular size, often to counteract the suppression caused by exogenous androgen administration or to treat certain forms of hypogonadism. In women, HCG is a critical component of fertility protocols, used to trigger ovulation following ovarian stimulation. The treatment leverages the hormone’s luteinizing properties to restore or enhance endogenous hormone production and reproductive processes.
