HCG Gonadal Stimulation

Meaning

HCG Gonadal Stimulation refers to the therapeutic use of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) to directly stimulate the gonads, specifically the Leydig cells in the testes of males, to produce endogenous sex hormones. This clinical intervention is primarily employed in men undergoing Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) to maintain testicular function and size and to support fertility by promoting intratesticular testosterone and spermatogenesis. It effectively mimics the action of Luteinizing Hormone (LH).
