Gut Lining Repair Agents

Meaning

A category of therapeutic compounds, including specific amino acids, short-chain fatty acids, and biological peptides, administered to support the restoration and maintenance of the intestinal mucosal barrier integrity. These agents address conditions of increased intestinal permeability, commonly referred to as “leaky gut,” which can contribute to systemic inflammation and immune dysregulation. Clinical application aims to strengthen the tight junctions between enterocytes and reduce the translocation of luminal antigens.
