Growth Hormone Releasing Hormones

Meaning

Growth Hormone Releasing Hormones, or GHRHs, represent a class of synthetic compounds engineered to stimulate the endogenous secretion of growth hormone (GH) from the anterior pituitary gland. These agents act by engaging specific receptors on somatotroph cells, thereby initiating the release of stored growth hormone into the systemic circulation. Unlike the naturally occurring hypothalamic GHRH, these synthetic analogues are designed for therapeutic applications to modulate GH levels.
