Growth Hormone Modulation

Meaning

Growth Hormone Modulation refers to the clinical strategy of intentionally adjusting the secretion, signaling, or biological availability of Growth Hormone (GH) and its primary mediator, Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), for therapeutic purposes. This intervention is employed to address conditions of GH deficiency or excess, as well as to optimize body composition, bone density, and metabolic function in age-related decline. Modulating the GH axis requires a precise understanding of the hypothalamic-pituitary-somatic feedback loop and the pulsatile nature of GH release. The goal is to restore a more youthful or physiologically appropriate GH/IGF-1 balance to support systemic health and tissue integrity.
