Growth Hormone Frequency

Meaning

The measure of how often the pituitary gland releases pulses of Growth Hormone (GH) into the systemic circulation over a given period, typically 24 hours. This frequency, along with the amplitude of each pulse, is a crucial determinant of the total daily GH secretion and its downstream effects, such as the production of Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1). Maintaining an optimal GH frequency is essential for processes like lipolysis, muscle anabolism, and cellular repair.
