Goserelin

Meaning

A synthetic decapeptide analog of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) that functions as a potent hormonal agent used clinically in the management of hormone-sensitive cancers, such as prostate and breast cancer, and in certain benign gynecological conditions like endometriosis. Administered as a subcutaneous implant, it provides a continuous, sustained release of the drug, leading to a profound suppression of sex hormone production. It is a form of medical castration.
