Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)

Meaning

Good Manufacturing Practice, or GMP, is a set of comprehensive regulations and guidelines enforced by regulatory bodies like the FDA to ensure that pharmaceutical products are consistently produced and controlled according to stringent quality standards. These practices cover all aspects of the manufacturing process, from the quality of raw materials and facility design to the equipment used and the training of personnel. Adherence to GMP is mandatory for guaranteeing the identity, strength, quality, and purity of all drug and biologic products.
