Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone

Meaning

Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone, or GnRH, is a decapeptide hormone synthesized and released by specialized hypothalamic neurons. Its primary function is to regulate the anterior pituitary gland’s production and secretion of gonadotropins: Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH). This neurohormone acts as a central signal within the reproductive axis.
