Gonadotroph

Meaning

A gonadotroph is a specialized endocrine cell located within the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. These cells are responsible for the synthesis and pulsatile secretion of the two crucial gonadotropic hormones: Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH). Their primary role involves regulating the complex processes of reproduction in both male and female physiology.
