Gonadotropes

Meaning

Gonadotropes are specialized endocrine cells located within the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. These cells are responsible for the synthesis and secretion of two critical hormones: Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH). Their primary role is to orchestrate the intricate processes of reproduction and sexual development across the lifespan.
