Gonadorelin Stimulation

Meaning

Gonadorelin Stimulation refers to a diagnostic procedure involving the exogenous administration of synthetic gonadorelin, also known as gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), to evaluate the functional integrity and responsiveness of the pituitary gland’s gonadotroph cells. This test assesses the capacity of the anterior pituitary to secrete luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in response to GnRH, thereby providing insights into the central components of the reproductive axis.
