Gonadorelin Adjunctive Therapy

Meaning

Gonadorelin adjunctive therapy refers to the clinical use of Gonadorelin, or its synthetic analogues like Gonadorelin Acetate, as a supplementary treatment alongside a primary hormonal protocol, such as testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Gonadorelin is a Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) agonist, and its adjunctive use is typically aimed at preserving or restoring endogenous testicular function and fertility, which can be suppressed by exogenous hormone administration. This strategy is employed to mitigate the potential for testicular atrophy and maintain the natural pulsatile signaling of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis.
