Gonadorelin Action

Meaning

Gonadorelin action describes the precise biological effect of the synthetic decapeptide, which is structurally identical to the naturally occurring hypothalamic Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), on the anterior pituitary gland. Its primary and critical action is to stimulate the synthesis and, crucially, the pulsatile release of the gonadotropins, Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH). These released hormones are essential for regulating reproductive function and coordinating steroidogenesis in both male and female gonads.
