Gonadorelin Acetate

Meaning

Gonadorelin Acetate is the synthetic form of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), a decapeptide hormone produced naturally by the hypothalamus. Clinically, it is used as a diagnostic agent to assess the functional capacity of the pituitary gland to release Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH). It is also employed therapeutically in specific pulsatile administration regimens to stimulate endogenous gonadotropin release, primarily for the treatment of certain forms of infertility or delayed puberty. This synthetic peptide is a key tool for evaluating and managing conditions related to the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) axis.
