GnRH Secretion Disruption

Meaning

GnRH Secretion Disruption is a pathological or physiological alteration in the critical pulsatile release pattern of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone from the hypothalamic pulse generator, leading to downstream impairment of the entire reproductive and hormonal axis. Since GnRH must be secreted in a precise, rhythmic pulse for the proper function of the pituitary, any deviation in pulse frequency or amplitude significantly impairs the release of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH). This disruption is a recognized and common cause of central hypogonadism and associated fertility issues.
