GnRH Receptors

Meaning

GnRH Receptors are specialized cell surface proteins located primarily on the gonadotroph cells within the anterior pituitary gland. These receptors are designed to bind Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), a decapeptide hormone released from the hypothalamus, initiating a critical signaling cascade that culminates in the synthesis and secretion of the gonadotropins, Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH).
