GnRH Pulsatility

Meaning

GnRH Pulsatility refers to the characteristic, intermittent, and rhythmic release of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus into the pituitary portal circulation. This pulsatile secretion pattern is a fundamental requirement for stimulating the pituitary gland to release the gonadotropins, Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH). The frequency and amplitude of these pulses are critically important, as they dictate the reproductive status and hormonal milieu of the individual, governing the entire reproductive axis.
