GnRH Deficiency

Meaning

GnRH Deficiency, or Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone Deficiency, is an endocrine disorder characterized by the insufficient production or secretion of GnRH from the hypothalamus, leading to hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. This condition prevents the normal pubertal development and impairs reproductive function in adults due to the resulting secondary lack of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland. Clinical presentation varies, often involving absent or incomplete puberty and infertility, necessitating specialized hormone replacement therapy or pulsatile GnRH administration for fertility induction.
