GnRH Analogue

Meaning

A GnRH Analogue is a synthetic peptide that structurally mimics the endogenous hypothalamic hormone, Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH). These pharmacological agents are utilized in endocrinology to therapeutically modulate the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) axis, primarily to either stimulate or, more commonly, suppress the production of sex steroids. They are essential in managing conditions like endometriosis, prostate cancer, and precocious puberty.
