GnRH Analog Therapy

Meaning

GnRH Analog Therapy refers to the clinical use of synthetic compounds that mimic or block the action of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), the master regulator of the reproductive endocrine axis. These therapeutic agents, categorized as agonists or antagonists, are employed to strategically modulate the secretion of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) from the pituitary gland. They are widely used in treating hormone-sensitive conditions, including prostate cancer, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and in controlled ovarian stimulation for fertility treatments.
