GnRH Agonist Therapy

Meaning

GnRH Agonist Therapy employs synthetic analogs of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone. These agents initially stimulate, then desensitize, pituitary GnRH receptors. This desensitization suppresses pulsatile luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone release, reducing gonadal steroid production.
