GnIH

Meaning

GnIH, or Gonadotropin-inhibitory hormone, is a neuropeptide found in both avian species and mammals. Its primary function is to inhibit the secretion of gonadotropins, specifically luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), from the anterior pituitary. This inhibitory action crucially counterbalances reproductive neuroendocrine regulation.
