GLP-1 Analogues

Meaning

Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogues are pharmaceutical agents designed to mimic the natural incretin hormone, GLP-1. These synthetic compounds activate GLP-1 receptors, eliciting similar physiological responses. Their design includes modifications extending their half-life compared to native GLP-1, which is rapidly degraded by the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4).
