GLP-1 Analogues

Meaning

GLP-1 Analogues, also known as Glucagon-like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists (GLP-1 RAs), are a class of injectable or oral pharmaceutical agents that structurally mimic the naturally occurring incretin hormone GLP-1. These therapeutic compounds are primarily used in the clinical management of type 2 diabetes and, increasingly, for chronic weight management due to their potent effects on glucose homeostasis and appetite regulation. They represent a significant advance in endocrinology for treating metabolic dysfunction.
