GHS Therapy

Meaning

GHS Therapy, or Growth Hormone Secretagogue Therapy, involves the administration of compounds that stimulate the body’s own pituitary gland to release Growth Hormone (GH). These secretagogues, such as specific peptides, do not directly introduce exogenous GH but instead enhance the natural pulsatile secretion of the hormone. The clinical application is focused on safely raising GH and its downstream mediator, Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), to potentially improve body composition, enhance recovery, and support overall metabolic health. This approach aims to restore more youthful physiological GH patterns without the regulatory complexities of direct GH administration.
