GHRH Potentiation

Meaning

GHRH potentiation is the pharmacological or nutritional strategy of enhancing the biological activity and downstream effects of Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH), a hypothalamic peptide that stimulates the release of Growth Hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland. This clinical approach aims to increase the pulsatile secretion of endogenous GH, which subsequently elevates Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) levels, without introducing synthetic GH itself. Potentiation is utilized to restore a more youthful somatotropic axis function, improving anabolism.
